I understand a framework for the control and eradication of Johne’s disease has been agreed between stakeholders, including AHI and the Department. While some loose ends remain to be tied up, and a timeline for the rollout of the programme is to be unveiled, it is progress towards tackling a disease that has a significant economic effect. Up to one in five Irish herds has Johne’s disease.
