Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed, has announced that 19 projects will progress to the next phase and be funded to develop their project proposals further under the European Innovation Partnership Initiative (EIP).
This form of funding has supported the award-winning Burren Programme and is used in the new Hen Harrier Programme, among several recent locally-led agri-environmental schemes around the country.
“The 19 projects which have been selected to progress to the next phase will now be funded to develop a detailed project plan for their projects,” Minister Creed said.
“A number of these proposals will then be selected to move forward to the full implementation phase.”
An overall funding package of €24m has been assigned to help EIPs, which form part of Ireland’s Rural Development Programme.
