The total number of persons that have received their 2017 AEOS balancing payment is 2,101. Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed has confirmed that 5% (106) of farmers are left unpaid. Galway and Mayo had the most number of paid applicants from the scheme, accounting for 33% of total payments nationwide.
Some of the counties that are now fully paid include Monaghan, Wexford, Westmeath, Carlow and Longford, while Leitrim, Mayo, Donegal, Galway and Kerry share the biggest unpaid figures between them.
"All AEOS cases that have passed payment approval checks have been paid in full for 2017," Minister Creed said in response to the parliamentary question from Fianna Fáil agricultural spokesperson Charlie McConologue. "Any participants who have been contacted in relation to outstanding documentation are encouraged to reply without delay."
