A joint operation involving An Garda Síochána, the PSNI, the Department of Agriculture and DARD officials from Northern Ireland has resulted in the seizure of over 40 cattle in Monaghan.

The investigation was launched after irregularities were identified through other investigations in the border area. A farming premises was searched near Castleblayney on Wednesday. Over 40 cattle have been detained and will now be examined by Department officials.
