There was no challenge to Galway IFA chair Pat Murphy at the county’s annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday night. A deal, seemingly brokered by presidential candidate Joe Healy prior to the meeting, allowed Murphy back in unopposed.

Healy spoke at the AGM, which was held in Raheen Woods, and was received well. The issue of Connacht regional chair was not raised and it remains to be seen if another deal can be done.

The three vice-presidential candidates Richard Kennedy, Pat Farrell and Nigel Reneghan spoke. No presidential hustings are being held in the host counties of the candidates.
