On Sunday 30 November, the Midland and Western Livestock Improvement Society will host its 10th annual winter fatstock show and sale in Carrick-on-Shannon.

The show will have 34 classes for commercial Limousin, Charolais, Blonde D’Aquitaine, Simmental, Belgian Blue, Angus, Hereford and Shorthorn livestock, with very attractive prizes in each section.

The show and sale is one of the biggest events to happen at the Carrick-on-Shannon mart during the year and it always attracts strong crowds and excellent-quality cattle.

To encourage the younger show enthusiast, the society is sponsoring the young stockperson class, where an RDS silver medal will be awarded to the first prizewinner.

The sale of animals will take place on Monday 1 December, with the top-quality commercial stock available for buyers. For full details call 086-3883112 or email midland andwestern@gmail.com
