Two farms with old farmhouses are coming up for auction in Co Kilkenny. Both residences require renovation but could qualify for funding under the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant. They are being handled by auctioneer Joe Coogan.

Up first is c69ac at Skehana, 6km from Castlecomer. It will be sold in lots.

Lot 1 is a two-storey farmhouse, 955 sq ft in area, on 11.9ac, with road frontage. The house has three bedrooms and the land is suitable for summer grazing. The guide price is €250,000.

Lot 2 is 56.9ac. This land is suitable for summer grazing or planting. The guide price is €7,000/ac to €8,000/ac. Lot 3 is the entire and no guide price is attached to it. The auction is on Friday, 10 May.

The second property heading for auction is 45.5ac at Clorinka, Muckalee. The land is suitable for grazing or making fodder. It will be offered in lots and the guide is €13,000/ac to €15,000/ac.

Lot 1 is c15.4ac divided in two fields, with the two-storey traditional farmhouse. Lot 2 is c30.1ac in six fields, with cattle crush and pen. It also includes c11.7ac of mainly Norwegian Spruce with 15 years of grant remaining at €2,422.50 per anum. Lot 3 is the entire. The auction takes place on Friday, 24 May at 3pm.
