Quinns of Baltinglass, the agri-merchant with locations across Leinster, reported a 5% increase in turnover to €110.5m for its financial year to the end of June 2015.
Operating profits increased 4% to €3.1m as operating margins held steady at 2.8%. Pre-tax profits for the 2015 financial year increased more than 5% to €2.8m. The principal shareholders are Liam and Kathleen Quinn. Quinns has grown to become one of the largest privately owned agricultural merchants in the country.
Quinns buys over 180,000t of grain each year from Irish growers in the Leinster area for processing into animal compound feed and rations at its Lewistown site in Kildare and in Baltinglass in Wicklow. This makes Quinns the second-largest buyer of native Irish grain just behind Glanbia’s agribusiness arm.

Quinns also trades in seed inputs, fertilisers, agrochemicals, fuels and hardware from locations across Wicklow, Wexford, Carlow, Kildare and Offaly.
In 2016, Quinns celebrated 80 years in business and currently employs close to 150 people across the business.
