I am inundated with readers’ queries and continue to work through them. Many of the queries I am getting are from farmers looking to identify what their payments will be worth over the next six years. To help them, I have developed a Single Farm Payment calculator that is now live on www.farmersjournal.ie/sfp.

Find out what your entitlements will be by first putting in if you got paid more or less than €5,000 in 2013 (to work out impact of any linear cut to entitlement values), your average entitlement value in 2013 and the number of hectares you are farming in 2014.

Farmers looking to buy or sell entitlements can use it to work out the income stream (before tax) of what the new average will be.

Remember that the figures are just a guide. I will continue to improve and update the calculator in the weeks ahead to give you the most accurate information.
