This is compared with just 26 registrations for all of 2014. This is a 40% increase in market as more confidence has come into the contractor sector.

The SPFH figures, compiled by the FTMTA Statistics Service, and based on actual machine registrations, show that once again Cork dominated the market and this year 9 new machines registered in the county. Kilkenny, Offaly and Tipperary each had three new machines registered while Laois and Limerick each showed two new SPFH’s registered.

Claas has again dominated the market with a 59% share, followed by John Deere with 35% of the market and the remainder held by New Holland. Some additional machines may have yet to hit the registration process, but if they do, the numbers will be small, possibly single figures and it is expected that Krone will be included.
