“My life is a pure misery after him,” a farmer in the south west told the Irish Farmers Journal.
“He demanded a deposit of €2,000, but we agreed on €1,500. The total cost of the shed was to be €7,500. He promised me I would have a shed the following week.
“I paid him in cash, I took it out of my own bank, and he gave me a signed contract with everything I had asked for.
“That was the only bit of work he did for the money: writing down what you ask for.”

The farmer and his son collected some steel for their shed but, on arriving home, discovered it was all incorrect sizes.

“I’ve lost €1,500 and I rang around other companies and a shed will cost €10,000. That’s €11,500 and I was after scrimping and saving and borrowing to put that money together first time. Money is very hard got here.
“It’s ridiculous carry-on that he’s allowed to continue. I wouldn’t mind if he had fallen on hard times, but he went out of his way to take money off me.”
