TJ Gormley after the launch of the new wrap-around EID and visual tag by Cormac Tagging.
The company says the tag will serve a number of purposes and will also act as a single EID slaughter tag ahead of the introduction of new tagging legislation in October.
The wrap-around tags can be purchased as a single EID tag or as an EID tag set with a visual and EId tag.
Cormac Tagging launched a new wraparound single sheep EID and visual tag at Saturday’s NSBA championships. TJ Gormley of Cormac Tagging says the new air coil EID tag uses FDX technology and its reliability makes it readable with almost all EID readers on the market with a minimum reading distance of 16cm. TJ added the tag set is small and lightweight at a total weight of less than 6g and is also UV-resistant. “These tags are on the world market for the last 10 years and are used extensively in New Zealand, Europe, America, the UK and Northern Ireland. We will also continue to offer our market leader, the recognisable red button Caisley EID flag tag set, but this will afford farmers another option and can be used for store lambs, lambs for export and as a proposed single slaughter tag”.
The single EID tag will retail at 95c while the EID and visual tag set costs €1.18.
