At the launch of the 2018 Smart Farming Programme were IFA president Joe Healy; Denis Naughten, Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment; and Laura Burke, EPA director general.

Over 1,200 farmers are expected to get involved in the 2018 Smart Farming programme, reducing on-farm costs by at least €5,000 each. The cost-saving initiative, led by the IFA in conjunction with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), also aims to reduce climate impact by 10%.
The 2018 programme will start this April. Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment Denis Naughten launched the programme this week.
“Smart Farming is making a real difference for farm families, their communities and the wider environment,” he said.
