According to Tony Pettit, Head of Education at Teagasc, courses in agriculture and horticulture have changed radically over the last few years as they are now all "nationally accredited with 12 courses on the CAO list". There is also now the opportunity to progress right up to honours degree level.

Moreover, in-line with the recommendations of the Food Harvest 2020 Report, the Teagasc professional diploma in Dairy Farm Management has also been introduced.

Ballyhaise Agricultural College, Teagasc, Agricultural College, Ballyhaise, Co. Cavan: Thursday 19 March, 10am-3pm

Kildalton Agricultural & Horticultural College, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny: Friday 20 March, 10am-1pm

Pallaskenry Agricultural College, Salesian Agricultural College, Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick: Thursday 26 March, 10am-2pm

Teagasc to hold a series of college open days for students

The open days will provide information on all further and Higher Level courses, an outline of careers in agriculture and agri-business among others, and guided tours of college teaching facilities.
