Connacht Agri, based in Claremorris, Co Mayo, has released a Mk III version of its calf milk feeder trolley, with the same 165 litre capacity. This new version comes with four pumped wheels as standard, for easier use.
It is fitted with a mixer motor that is said to give consistency with each feed. There is now an option of a built-in integrated heater to ensure the milk is at an optimal temperature.
This new trolley has a pressure-
activated 28 litre per minute pump for fast filling of feeders. It is fitted with a 3m (10ft) hose that carries a digitally metered pump nozzle for dispersing exact quantities to batches of calves.
This latest Connacht Agri milk feeder trolley is designed to transport, mix, pump and heat milk in a time-saving and clean way at feeding time. The unit costs €460 including VAT.
Connacht Agri has also introduced a new 220-litre capacity milk shuttle to make feeding calves in batches, hutches or groups a good deal easier. The tank comes with calibrated markings, a flip lid and sunken sump for easier washing and complete emptying. The shuttle is fitted with 40mm gate valve at the sump for emptying into buckets and for faster washing out.
The shuttle is transported on three pumped 15in wheels so that it can travel across typical farmyard conditions. The basic unit has a freewheel pull and handbrake for safety.
Connacht Agri is offering the option of making the machine self-drive, with a motorised front wheel electric drive and an accelerator throttle powered by a battery and charger. There is also the option of fitting the shuttle with a specific ball hitch ring connector for pulling with an ATV or small tractor.
The milk shuttle can be fitted with a powerful electric agitator motor for mixing powder milk. There is also an option to have a battery powered inline 31.5l/min (7 gallon) pump with digital metered nozzle for filling exact quantities of milk to feeders.
The shuttle can be fitted with a heating element with adjustable thermostat. This allows for heating milk to specific temperatures including pasteurisation temperatures.
The Connacht Agri milk shuttle also comes with a galvanised carry rail for hanging teat feeders and buckets when returning to wash areas. The cost of the unit is €1,107, including VAT.
