UK milk collections rose by 1.4% in April compared with the same month last year. A total of 1.31m tonnes of milk were collected in April which is still 0.44% behind the three year average.

Total milk collections in the UK for the year to date amount to 4.93m tonnes, 2.03% behind the 5.03m tonnes collected at the same time last year.

Belgium

Meanwhile, in Belgium April milk collections were 2.22% behind the same month last year. The tenth largest milk producer in the EU output 334,000t of milk in April. It is still 0.5% ahead of its three year average. Total milk collections in Belgium for the year to date amount to 1.32m tonnes, 1.58% behind the same time last year.
