The 17th annual FBD Young Farmer of the Year competition, run by Macra na Feirme in partnership with the IFA, will draw to a close on Tuesday 1 September as the 2015 winner will be chosen.
The long-anticipated announcement will take place at a banquet in the Twin Trees Hotel, Ballina, Co Mayo, home of the 2014 winner and dairy farmer Sean O’Donnell. Six selected finalists will be announced at lunch, when they will undergo a final interview, followed by the awarding of prizes in all sectors and the prestigious overall prize of a travel bursary and title of FBD Young Farmer of the Year.
