The DLG (German Agricultural Society) and VDMA (Agricultural Machinery Association) have made the decision to postpone Agritechnica, the world’s most renowned machinery show, for four months.

The event had been scheduled to take place in November, but will now take place from 27 February to 5 March 2022 at the usual venue at the exhibition grounds in Hanover, Germany.

The DLG said the event was being pushed back due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions and the slow progress of vaccination programmes, both in Germany and abroad.

The organising bodies believe that the four-month postponement will give the participating companies the necessary certainty required for planning.

“As a world-leading trade fair, Agritechnica is the meeting point for the entire agricultural machinery industry, as well as a leading international business platform,” said DLG CEO Dr Reinhard Grandke.

He added: “The essential requirements for exhibitors, visitors and business partners to be able to gather again at Agritechnica are vaccine and test strategies that have been put into practice in Germany, Europe and worldwide. Our top priority is to offer exhibitors and visitors certainty in planning but this is not currently the case.”

The CEO said that by late summer, which is the deadline for exhibitors to register for Agritechnica 2022, there will be greater clarity for exhibitors and visitors.

Meanwhile, the DLG’s digital platform will offer a program of professional and technical information from November 2021.
