The four Aurivo marts are to re-open in a limited way next week, but won't be open to the public.

Sales will be operated as follows:

  • The seller will ring the mart with details on what animals are for sale and estimated weights.
  • The mart will then give the seller names and details of four or five potential buyers. It is up to the seller to ring the potential buyers.
  • The buyer will then either agree a price per kilo or a price for the animal.
  • Then the seller will ring the mart and say there is a price agreed.
  • They will be told to bring the stock to the mart at a predetermined time.
  • The buyer will be at the mart and at the seller at the other side of the ring for weighing.
  • The payment will go through the mart.
