The successful Field Days event take place this Wednesday and Thursday just minutes away from Fendt dealer Farmworks Machinery’s premises in Ballyboughal, north county Dublin.

The Irish Farmers Journal was onsite to see Fendt’s wide range of tractors and grassland equipment on display. Attendees had the opportunity to see machines working as well chat to the UK and Irish product specialist associated with each product line. Fendt dealers from across the country helped run the event.

The tracked 943MT was coupled up with a 10m Pottinger disc harrow.

Both tractor and sprayer ranges were put through their paces. Tractors from the smaller 300 and 500 series right up to the tracked 431hp 943MT and the latest 415hp 942 models were on show.

Tractors from the 700,800 and 900 series were all pulling cultivators.

This was the first time the 943MT has been seen working on Irish soil, while it was also the first Irish sighting of the new 900 series tractor since its launch in July. These two machines attracted the attention of many given their size and power.

The new 942 tractor is fitted with a 9l MAN engine producing 415hp.

The 942 was the first wheeled 900 series tractor to break the 400hp power band. It is fitted with an all-new Stage V 9l MAN engine producing 415hp and new TA 300 Vario transmission. These updates, along with higher-capacity hydraulics and a cab from its larger 1000 series counterparts, make the new 942 a different beast to the current 900 series tractors we know.

The Fendt Rogator 645 was on display.

Stay tuned to the Irish Farmers Journal for more on the new 900 series tractor.
