Big Week on the Farm drew in 28% of all television viewers when it aired on RTÉ last week.

Early viewing figures from RTÉ show that the show attracted an average audience of 325,000 people and an audience share of 28%.

The figures are based on the first four days of the week-long series and are expected to increase when figures for the full week are consolidated.

RTÉ reports that it is very happy with how the show was received and how well it connected with viewers, with a marked increase in interaction through Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat.

The week’s viewing included everything from dissections, calf jacking and drones to dairy, sheep, hatching chicks and musical milking.

As a side note, The Dealer was delighted to see Munster man Pat Shortt put the Dublin 4 brigade to shame in the milking challenge, coaxing three times more milk from Carmel the cow than nearest rival, Fair City actress Aoibhín Garrihy.
