Willie John Kehoe in Foulksmills, Co Wexford, and his team were busy clearing roads and farms of snow. They also helped out the county council.

“We were putting in long shifts. We’re still busy and have loaders out shifting snow.” Willie John also had three sheds damaged as a result of Storm Emma with one roof completely damaged and a tractor and sprayer damaged, he said.

John Boiler Murphy was also busy clearing roads in Monageer in Co Wexford.

“There was snow of 6ft to 7ft in places. We cleared every road around Monageer. We should be linking up with corporations to come up with a plan in case something like this was to happen again.”

Philip Heary Contractors were called in to help clear roads and the Luas lines in Dublin, as well as clear roads in his home county of Meath. “There was 15ft drifts in parts of Meath, which was difficult to clear out. People were snowed in for three days and running out of bread and milk. They were happy to see us coming.”
