A native of Dublin, Niamh and her husband Séamus and their sons Tadhg and Donnacha now reside in Cavan.

Niamh (37) enrolled in Diggs Lane Performing Art Studios when she was about 6 and stayed there until she was 15.

“I've grown up listening to all types of music but one of my favourite singers of all time is the wonderful Patsy Cline. I loved her pure velvet tones and would as a teenager listen to her in my bedroom along with Tammy Wynette Loretta Lynn and June Carter.

“I loved to listen to the Beatles and I'd sometimes throw a bit of Doris Day in there. I'm quite eclectic but country music is where I can really show my vocal ability, it suits me and I suit it,” says Niamh.

Managed by Declan Quinn of LCM Promos, she released her very first single in March 2015. Sing Me An Old fashioned Song, which was a big song for Billy Joe Spears, secured a lot of airplay and attention for Niamh. Last February, she appeared on the Late Late Show when she did a duet with Johnny Brady on A Love I Think Will Last.

Niamh always had a love for 1950’s dress style. “It’s just so elegant and simple. I've been very lucky with this as I have been sponsored by a very cool shop called Rock Frocks in Athy Co Kildare which means they supplied me with all the dresses I've been sporting so far.”

Her own show, Niamh Lynn's Tribute to the Classic Ladies of Country, was a sell-out when staged in the Ramour Theatre in Virginia, Co Cavan and she plans to bring this around the country at the end of the summer. She is also one of the support acts on the Nathan Carter bill-topping line-up at the Moynalty Steam Threshing in Meath on August 14.

“Being nominated by for the RTE Newcomer of the Year at the ICMA is the biggest achievement for me. Just being there is an award in itself and I am looking forward so much to June 24 in Dublin,” says Niamh.
