Firefighters from Cavan town were called to tackle a tractor fire in Cavan on Monday night, 26 April.
The fire took place in the Butlersbridge area. Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) was used to extinguish the blaze.
“This flame retardant foam smothers the fire and is more effective than water alone in these scenarios,” a spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, local fire services were called to deal with an incident of illicit burning of waste on a farm premise in the Inniskeen area of Co Monaghan on Thursday.
“Fire crews from Carrickmacross and Castleblayney deployed Breathing Apparatus and foam to extinguish the fire,” a spokesperson told the Irish Farmers Journal.
“The extent and nature of incident also required the deployment of a water tanker.”
