Kellys of Borris will showcase a range of machinery at the upcoming event in Oak Park, including the new Horsch 4KR folding drill.

Express KR

The Express 4KR is the first folding pneumatic seed drill from Horsch with an integrated power harrow. Horsch claims that the drill allows for intensive seedbed preparation in all conditions.

The Express KR is available with a single or double front-mounted hopper. The specially designed frame means that any adjustment of the power harrow does not affect the sowing depth. Horsch uses a DoubleDisc seed coulter for precise seed placement. The presswheel-controlled coulter design allows for a quick adaption to the soil at a high speed. The TurboDisc seed coulters can be lifted hydraulically.

This DoubleDisc seed coulter has maintenance-free bearings. These rubber bearings transfer a coulter pressure of 120kg, allowing for an operational speed of up to 20km/h. They also act as an overload protection and shock absorber from stones. When adjusting, coulter pressure and sowing depth do not influence each other.

A carbide coated scraper keeps the area between the discs clean and prevents blocking. The seed unit can be uncoupled from the power harrow via four fixing points.

The folding power harrow can be combined with the Partner FT, a front hopper with a 1,600l seed-only hopper or in the case of the seed and fertiliser hopper, it comes with a 2,000l capacity, which will also be on display at the upcoming event.

The design of the feed opening is large for quick filling with a front loader or a telescopic handler.

The double venturi at the metering device allows for an electric half-width shut-off to reduce any overlapping. In combination with Section Control, an automatic half-width shut-off via GPS is also achievable. The machine comes with the option of several packer versions including the tooth packer roller, trapeze ring packer or the FarmFlex packer.

Other machines

Kellys are also set to display a Joker disc harrow with a TG bar, a trailed 4m Pronto grain and fertiliser dill, a 4MT Terrano tine and disc cultivator and two sprayers including the 5LT and the 4AX, both of which are equipped with 24m booms. In addition, they will also be displaying a 16t tandem axle Pronar chaser bin, a Claas combine and a Dalbo 6.3m Maxiroll.
