2015 John Deere harvester makes €95,000 at contractor dispersal sale

A 2015 John Deere 7480 self-propelled forage harvester with 2,371 hours (1,564 drum hours) fully serviced and ready for grass topped a Laois contractors dispersal sale, selling for €95,000 plus VAT and commission.

With 84 lots going under the hammer, the sale achieved a clearance rate of 90%. The retirement machinery dispersal auction was held on Wednesday, 25 February 2026 on behalf of Cuddy Plant & Agri, Ballygillaheen, Rosenallis, Co Laois.

Michael Doyle Auctioneers carried out the sale. “The sale offered over 80 lots with extremely well-maintained and minded machinery,” said Michael Doyle. “We had over 300 people come to view the machines ahead of the sale. With 350 active bidders, there was an audience of over 17,000 people.

“We sold lots all over the country, and had several active bidders from the UK. There continues to be a solid demand for well-minded used equipment.”

The second-highest selling lot was a 2018 New Holland W170C wheel loader, which registered 4,785 hours and sold for €80,000. This was followed by a 2014 John Deere 6150R with front links and 7,800 hours selling for €52,000. A 2015 John Deere 6145R with a JD front loader and 6,900 hours was bid to €78,000, but failed to sell.

An immaculate example of a 2017 McHale F550 with 22,800 bales sold for €23,000, followed closely by a 2021 Erth 3m Agriseeder drill which sold for €22,500 and a QuickCut 580 whole crop header, with a 5.8m cutting width, which sold for €17,500. A five-furrow Kverneland EG 85 with a full set of discs and skimmers sold for €15,000, as did a 2009 Dooley 20ft silage trailer and a 2001 Samco four row maize drill also sold for €15,000. A 2006 Dooley 18ft silage trailer made €12,500, followed by a Bredal B48 lime spreader selling for €12,400 and a 2015 Frandent six-rotor tedder selling for €10,200.

A 2001 Kuhn 3003 power harrow fitted with new tines with an Accord drill on Suffolk coulters sold for €9,200; an Abbey 2,000-gallon slurry tanker on flotation tyres €8,700 (excluding VAT); and a 2023 Ifor Williams 10x6 tipper trailer with mesh sides described as being like new sold for €6,950 (excluding VAT).

A clean 2016 ProDig 14ft folding silage fork sold for €6,900, followed by a 2009 Land Rover Discovery with passenger seats selling for €6,600 and a 2021 Tolmet three-metre mounted disc harrow selling for €6,500.

A Pottinger Nova Cat 310T 10ft trailed mower sold for €6,400; a 2005 Toyota Land Cruiser with 213,000 miles on the clock sold for €6,200 (excluding VAT); and a Stone Cart on flotation tyres sold for €6,100.

A 2013 Alstrong three-metre trailed aerator sold for €6,000, a 6.3m Flexcoil ring roller sold for €6,000; a 2008 Kuhn GF5001 four-rotor tedder described as being like new sold for €5,600; as did a Malone four-bale carrier.

All prices listed were subject to VAT and commission of 10% for items up to €1,000, 5% for items over €1,000, with a maximum charge of €2,000 plus VAT per lot.
