Well known for its extensive range of pneumatic seeders, grassland harrows as well as mechanical weeders and light cultivation equipment, APV now introduces its new GK 300 S Grassland Combi, slit seeder for the coming season.
The new solution in its most basic form incorporates a sprung levelling board up front followed by 24 sprung seeding coulters (12.5cm row spacing), designed to slit the surface and place seed at a depth of 1-3cm.
The hydraulically adjustable coulter bar can be pressurised to apply up to 70kg of downwards force per coulter. Finishing the seeding process is a 410mm diameter toothed ring roller, designed to encourage optimum soil seed contact.

Across the 3m working width there are 24 slit seeding coulter.
Further broadening the possibilities, the standard PS 300 pneumatic seeder can be swapped out for the new PS 500 unit, which allows a second seed type or fertiliser to be applied at the same time. This is made possible by the divided hopper, available in either 70:30 or 50:50 split, and the divided seeding shaft.
Alternatively, a second pneumatic seeder (Smart Twin) can be added for a combination of slit and broadcast seeding, application of different seed types at different rates or half-width control/shut off, in conjunction with Isobus.
For a complete one-pass pasture reseeding/rejuvenation solution, APV recommends marrying the slit seeder up with its front-mounted combination harrow which comprises a front-levelling board followed by two rows of spring tines, designed to remove dead material and lightly expose the surface.

The new Smart Twin seeder can apply seed at different rates or stop application on one side.
Together, five operations are carried out in one single pass; levelling, harrowing, aeration, seeding and rolling.
