A nice package in a townland called Currabaggan located circa 1km from the village of Knockmore in Co Mayo, sold under the hammer at auction. The final price of €8,500/ac was well above Mayo’s county average of €5,598/ac in 2018, albeit the farm contained a house.

Offered by Michael Boland in three lots, the total combined value of the three lots was €196,000. The first lot was the house, which needed renovation and had 12 acres of land. This sold for €106,000. The second and third lot was very good quality land. The second offering comprised of almost six acres and fetched €64,000 or almost €11,000/ac.

Lot three was just under 2.5 acres and made €26,000 or just over €10,000/ac, albeit for small acreage.

The auction took place in the Merry Monk Hotel in Ballina.
