Seven new Holstein bulls are included in the latest top 10 rankings of young genomic sires within the UK.

Compiled on three occasions annually by the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), the list ranks young bulls on Profitable Lifetime Index (PLI) within a breed.

Topping the list for second time is Genosource Captain, which now has a PLI of £861, down from a PLI of £882 in the previous run.

New entrant Peak AltaPlinko makes an impressive debut in second spot with a PLI of £857. A son of Progenesis Marius, Plinko is the highest indexed sire for combined fat and protein.

From the same stable is third-placed Peak AltaZazzle, another new entrant with a PLI of £817.

Denovo 15848 Kenmore ranks fourth (PLI £811), followed by Denovo 14566 Crosby in fifth place with a PLI of £806.

The highest UK-bred sire, Denovo Invictus, squeezes into the top 20 with a PLI of £764.

In the daughter-proven Holstein sire list, the Boastful son, WestCoast Guarantee leads with a PLI of £737, ahead of the only new entrant in the top 10, his stable mate, Westcoast Yamaska. This Afterburner son has a PLI of £696.
