In response to a parliamentary question recently, the Minister for Agriculture, Michael Creed, outlined that there was a total of 65 requests for review of appeal decisions by the end of August.
Of this number, Co Galway had 11 requests in for review of decisions, making it the highest county for such requests.
It was followed by Co Mayo, with 10 requests, Co Kerry, with eight requests and Co Cork with seven requests.
Minister Creed said: “The Agriculture Appeals Act provides that the director [of agricultural appeals] may revise any decision of an appeals officer if it appears to him or her that the decision was erroneous by reason of some mistake having been made in relation to the law or the facts.
“The Agriculture Appeals Office has advised that the number of requests awaiting decision by the director is 65, according to the records held at 31 August 2017.”
The minister said that every effort is being made to complete the reviews.
