A large crowd were present in the auction room of Ballycomey House, Castlecomer on Friday 6 March as auctioneer Joseph Coogan brought a 37ac residential holding to the market.
There was an opening bid of €600,000 on the property at Russelstown, Attanagh, Co Kilkenny and with no further bids from the floor, the property was withdrawn for negotiations with the highest bidder.
Following this, the property was later sold for a substantial higher figure.

The successful buyer is a local farmer.
Contained in the offering was a detached bungalow with four bedrooms with a dated but functional yard and 37ac of land to the rear.
