Factory agents are demonstrating much greater appetite for hoggets, with prices lifted back over €9/kg and resulting in deals to groups and regular sellers to upwards of €9.10/kg.
Mart managers report agents exhibiting greater bite for hoggets as the week progresses, with prices steadying and firming by in cases by €1 to €3/head.
Some mart sales have seen prices hold steady to €2 to €3 easier, while others have seen prices reduce by €5 to €6-plus per head, with agents more coy in their purchasing activity.
The market for cull ewes has been booming in the last week to 10 days, but, in contrast, in-lamb ewes are meeting a relatively subdued trade, with fewer farmers with an appetite to lamb ewes.
