Some of last year's attendees enjoying themselves at the Women and Agriculture Conference. \ Philip Doyle
9.30am: Welcome by Amii McKeever, Irish Country Living editor.
9.40am: Welcome by Justin McCarthy, Irish Farmers Journal editor.
9.50am: Address by Deirdre McGarrigle, FBD Insurance branch manager, Donegal.
10am: Makeover reveal: Two lucky Irish Country Living winners get the chance to find a whole new look in Killarney.
10.15am: The Future of Women in Farming: Last year, our panel on the future of women in farming was the most animated session at our conference. Since then, five women have been appointed at county chair level in the IFA. Looking at the changes that have been made and what more can be done in the future, journalist Mairead Lavery will chair a panel with Caroline Farrell, IFA Farm Family & Social Affairs chair, Anne Baker, North Cork chair, and Imelda Walsh, North Tipperary chair. Amii McKeever will also present findings of a recent survey undertaken to ascertain the barriers for entry for women in agriculture.
11am: Coffee break
11.20am: Brexit and CAP – where to next? When it comes to Brexit, there has been much talk about the impact on the agricultural industry and our export market but what will the real impact be inside the farm gates and to the farming family? Plus what can we expect from the Common Agricultural Policy in the future? This panel discussion will be chaired by Phelim O’Neill, Irish Farmers Journal global market intelligence specialist. Sitting on the panel will be Justin McCarthy, editor of the Irish Farmers Journal, Anne Randles, Ornua director and Celine McAnenly, who will give the on-the-farm perspective.
12pm: Chef Adrian: get cooking with Adrian Martin. Zoe Kavanagh, chief executive of the NDC, will also take to the stage to discuss the dairy ingredients that Adrian will be cooking with.
12.40pm: Entertainment act: the much-anticipated entertainment act is back and this year will be just as good.
1pm: Lunch
2.30pm: Briege Corkery: hard work and determination got Briege Corkey to where she is today, one of the most successful GAA stars of all time. She has a record-breaking 18 All-Ireland football and camogie medals and also works on a herd of more than 600 cows with her husband, Diarmuid. They milk in partnership with Mike Bateman in Crookstown, Co Cork.
No doubt, Briege will leave us feeling uplifted and motivated..
3pm: Noreen Murphy, Lisheen House: some of the most impactful talks at our conference over the years have been the ones where people have stood up and spoke the raw truth. Noreen Murphy’s story in setting up Lisheen House after the death of her husband Donal by suicide is both moving and inspiring. She knew, given the current mental health services, that if she wanted to make a difference, she would have to do it herself. And this is exactly what she has done.
3.30pm: Women & Agriculture winners: meet our 2018 Women & Agriculture winners. Ciara Leahy will be talking to Maria Flynn from Ballymakenny Farm in Drogheda about her purple potatoes, Caroline Daly from Kilbeg East on Valentia Island, who set up Valentia Ice-cream, and Linda Syron from Mulingar, who runs Mollie Moo’s Pet Farm. All inspiring stories about finding the innovation on your land.
4.15pm: Break
4.30pm: Mary Kennedy: celebrating success, highlighting the importance of community spirit and showcasing Irish businesses are qualities that characterise both Nationwide and Irish Country Living. So really there couldn’t be a more perfect person to make her mark at this year’s Women & Agriculture conference than Mary Kennedy.
5.10pm: Makeover reveal: Welcome back our winners with their brand-new look.

Mary Kennedy is a lady who tells it like it is and at this year’s Women & Agriculture Conference, run in association with FBD, she won't be shying away from life’s real truths, writes Ciara Leahy.
The tricky subject of farm succession causes conflict in many families, but can be avoided with early conversations on the subject, says dairy farmer Anne-Marie Ryan from Co Tipperary.
Katherine O'Leary couldn't get enough of Rory O'Connell's tips at the Women and Agriculture conference.
