Monaghan Mushrooms’ vegan burger has reached the production line with a first run of the product completed at the Knockaconny plant on 5 March.

The vegan alternative is a product of the company’s innovation arm MBio, with a range of meat alternatives currently in development.

The burger uses mushrooms produced on the company’s farm and is due to become available on the retail market shortly.

Meanwhile, the Brenntag Food and Nutrition business unit in North America, has announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Monaghan Group in the US and Canada.
