A couple of weeks ago I wrote about a fox attack that resulted in a young Angus calf being killed in Co Cork.

Well, it turns out that the fox in question was not a lone wolf. I received a letter this week from a Co Cork farmer who recounts how three foxes attacked a freshly calved cow. “I could hear all the cows were going mad. I went down the field and saw three foxes in a corner … the cow was running after them. The foxes had eaten more than half of one of the calves,” he wrote.

Shocking stuff. Keep an eye out for the foxes.
