Chloe (12), Sam (five), Charlie and Harry (eight) are lucky to have a mother who bakes cakes professionally. Owner of The Artful Caker, Maria Cahill shares pictures of her beautiful bakes on her Instagram and Facebook pages.

Recently, with many of her special occasion cake orders cancelled (think Communions, Confirmations and weddings), she has been spending time in the kitchen with her kids, doing a weekly "bake along" on Facebook Live. The four Cahill children are enjoying their time in the kitchen, where they make lots of tasty treats.

Chloe enjoys singing, acting, playing piano and violin and they've been spending many of their lockdown days outdoors, playing spy games and watching their grandad's cows!

Making food videos with their mum has been loads of fun, especially for Sam, who has Asperger's – Maria says these videos have been a great social outlet for him. We think the Cahill kids are doing great work in the kitchen - they even raised €1500.00 for Temple Street Children's Hospital in April.

This Saturday, they will have an ice-cream making competition for their weekly bake along on Facebook – have a look at the ice cream recipe below, follow along on their Facebook live this Saturday morning (at around 10:30am) and then post a picture of your own ice cream creation on Sunday.

If you have a budding chef in your house, send in their cooking videos to our WhatsApp, 089-249 9922. We love seeing so many kids in the kitchen – there's a lot of hands-on learning happening and lots of fun, too.
